Summary
Multiple field test have proven that Ticon algorithm allows calculations of the traffic flow parameters, including traffic volumes, with an accuracy comparable with that of traffic detectors. Moreover, Ticon results do not suffer from hardware malfunctioning, installation problems and poor maintenance.
Methodology: Direct comparison of Ticon calculations with detectors’ measurements

Conclusions
Ticon algorithm allows calculations of the traffic flow parameters, including traffic volumes, with an accuracy comparable with that of traffic detectors.
Ticon algorithm ensures continuous accuracy because it does not suffer from hardware malfunctioning, installation problems and poor maintenance.
The average relative divergence between detector data and the results of calculation by Ticon algorithm varies within 14- 24%, with larger values corresponding to the lesser GPS-data representativeness, usually noted on small streets.
Direct measurements of traffic flow volumes with the help of video surveillance have shown Ticon accuracy of up to 95%.
Ongoing experiments
Ticon improves every day. We test it continuously.
